What the scope can include

Select the work and handoff your project needs. The agreement identifies the included deliverables and responsibilities.

  • Education and childcare

Define age groups, programs, room use, outdoor areas, supervision and support facilities. Coordinate specialized facility criteria with exits, accessibility, utilities and owner requirements.

  • Fitness, recreation and creative work

Plan equipment, studios, courts, production rooms and supporting spaces around loads, acoustics, ventilation and circulation. Recording, art or workshop activities may create distinct technical needs.

  • Events, worship and public assembly

Coordinate seating or flexible layouts, stages, exits, restrooms, access and event support. Distinguish permanent building work from temporary-use or event approvals.

Prepare for the assignment

You can start with incomplete records. Tell us what is available and what still needs to be established.

  • Information to bring

Program and operating description, user/attendance assumptions, seating or equipment layouts, site/building records and applicable facility or owner criteria.

  • The agreed handoff

A program-specific plan package and review register connecting room use, technical systems and operating approvals.

Decisions, fees and timing

Scope and dependencies determine the proposal. No universal price or approval date is assumed.

  1. Confirm the basis and responsibility

Review the available records, intended endpoint and authority to use the information. Assign missing inputs, technical decisions and the parties who can authorize changes.

  2. Coordinate and review the work

Prepare the included documents from agreed inputs, resolve interfaces with responsible specialists and track revisions. Record external decisions and conditions separately from work prepared for review.

  3. Account for project-specific dependencies

Attendance and use changes, specialized equipment, acoustic or structural needs, existing-system limits and separate facility reviews.

  4. Deliver the defined milestone

Provide the controlling documents and remaining-action record. Identify what is accepted, what still requires a decision and what belongs to a separately contracted next stage.

Common questions

Can the room be used for different activities?

Identify each intended arrangement and activity. The responsible designers and authorities evaluate the resulting capacity, exits and system requirements.

Are event permissions part of the building permit?

They may be separate. Describe temporary setups, outdoor activity and event operations so the required pathways can be identified.
